Any of the following true of you?
1. No time to wash dishes.
2. No time to eat in restaurants.
3. Not much time to cook.
4. Not much time for grocery shopping.
If so, then this recipe may be for you!
Don’t let the simplicity of this recipe fool you. It is incredibly delicious. It requires only 3 non-optional ingredients. This recipe uses a microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹ and a disposable plastic spoon¹ as the only preparation / eating utensils, so no dish washing is required. None of the ingredients are perishable (Jam or jelly will keep for months in the refrigerator, and butter will keep for months in the freezer), so grocery shopping is minimized.
1. To a 20-oz. microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹, add 2 tablespoons (¼ stick) of unsalted butter².
2. Microwave until the butter melts.
3. Add an amount of your favorite jam or jelly³ which is approximately equal to the amount of butter.
4. Add ¼ cup of water.
5. Microwave until the mixture comes to boil.
6. Add some golden raisins. (optional)
7. Add some shredded coconut. (optional)
8. Mix, using a disposable plastic spoon¹.
9. Mix in powdered milk until the mixture become thick.
10. Serve warm or cold, including the plastic spoon.
¹ At Wal-Mart®, I’ve purchased Dixie®
brand 20-oz. microwavable paper bowls in packages of 30 for US$3.38
and Diamond® brand plastic spoons in packages of 48 for US$1.14.
² Peanut butter could be substituted for the butter, in which case skip step #2.
³ A teaspoon of sugar could be substituted for the jam / jelly.
