Here’s a recipe which is an immune system booster. It is very quick and easy to prepare, a very nice feature when you’re feeling sick. It uses onions and garlic as the main immune boosting ingredients. I highly recommend that your avoid using onions or garlic in your normal meals. Onions or garlic are powerful medicines, but if you use them all of the time, then they won’t be nearly as effective when you really need them, such as to help fight off an infection without having to resort to immune system weakening anti-biotics.

1. Add ¼ teaspoon of salt.

2. Add ½ teaspoon each: of powdered ginger, powdered turmeric and cayenne pepper.

3. Add 1 teaspoon each: onion powder and garlic powder.

4. Add 2 tablespoons (¼ stick) of butter to a 20 oz. disposable paper bowl¹.

5. Use a disposable plastic spoon¹ to eliminate lumps, and then shake the bowl in order to distribute the spices somewhat evenly.

6. Microwave until the butter is completely melted.

7. Add a 15 oz. can of vegetables such as sweet peas, cut green beans, whole kernal corn, sliced carrots, or cut green asparagus spears. (Including the liquid.)

8. Add ⅓ cup of instant oatmeal.

9. Mix using the disposable plastic spoon.

10. Microwave on high for 1½ minutes.

11. Serve while still warm including the plastic spoon.

¹ At Wal-Mart®, I’ve purchased Dixie® brand 20 oz. microwavable paper bowls in packages of 30 for US$2.97 and Diamond® brand plastic spoons in packages of 48 for US$.96.
