Recipe: Macaroni & Cheese for Those with No Time

Any of the following true of you?

1. No time to cook.

2. No time to wash dishes.

3. No time to eat in restaurants.

4. No time for grocery shopping.

5. No time to eat more than once or twice a day.

If so, then this recipe may be for you!

This recipe uses a microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹ and a disposable plastic spoon¹ as the only cooking / eating utensils. It does not require any perishable ingredients such as fresh vegetables or dairy products (Butter keeps for months in the freezer), so you only need to stock up on groceries once every few weeks! It’s the fastest, easiest way to prepare a jumbo sized serving of macaroni and cheese.

1. Into a 20 oz. microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹, add ¾ cup of water.

2. Add a macaroni package (not a cheese package) from a box of Kraft® Easy Mac Big Packs® Macaroni & Cheese Dinner.

3. Microwave using medium power (power high enough for the water to come to a boil, but low enough so that it doesn’t boil over) for 5 minutes.

4. While the macaroni is cooking, melt 1 tablespoon (⅛ stick) of butter².

5. Do not drain.

6. Add a cheese package.

7. Mix thoroughly using a disposable plastic spoon¹ which will later be used for eating.

8. Add the melted butter².

9. Add a liberal amount of curry powder.

10. Mix thoroughly.

¹ At Wal-Mart®, I’ve purchased Dixie® brand 20 oz. microwavable paper bowls in packages of 30 for US$2.97 and Diamond® brand plastic spoons in packages of 48 for US$.96.

² One obvious disadvantage of the above recipe is that it creates “dirty dishes.” A knife is required to cut the butter, and a container is required to melt the butter. For a good way to melt the butter without creating any dirty dishes, see “The World’s Best Popcorn” (http://LLBest.com/WorldsBestPopcorn.htm).
