Dried fruit and nuts are great for travelling because they keep “forever” without refrigeration. The dried fruit and nuts “treasure hunt” idea described below also creates the main ingredient for another great travel recipe.

1. Open a 34-oz. container of Great Value® Party Size Mixed Nuts*.

2. One-by-one, eat only the tastiest nuts: macadamias, pecans, cashews and Brazil nuts.

3. After eating your fill of salted nuts, open a 28-oz. bag of Sam’s Choice® Tropical Trail Mix*

4. One-by-one, eat only the tastiest of the dried fruit and the unsalted nuts: papaya, pineapple, apricots, macadamias and cashews.

5. Repeat step 2 over a period of days until only peanuts and almonds remain.

6. Repeat step 4 over a period of days until only banana chips, raisins, cranberries and almonds remain.

7. Pour the remainder of the trail mix into the container containing the remainder of the mixed nuts.

8. After replacing the lid, shake well.

9. Set the final mixture of “rejects” aside for use as the main ingredient in another great travel recipe: “Sweet, Buttery Dried Fruit and Nut Snack” (http://LLBest.com/TravelDriedFruitAndNuts.htm).

* At Wal-Mart®, I’ve purchased 34-oz. containers of Great Value® Party Size Mixed Nuts for US$7.98 each and 28-oz. bags of Sam’s Choice® Tropical Trail Mix for US$4.98 each.
