Microwave popcorn is fast and easy, but here’s a good substitute which is even faster and easier.

This recipe uses only commonly available ingredients. It uses a microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹ and a disposable plastic spoon¹ as the only cooking / eating utensils.

1. To a 20-oz. microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹, add ¼ teaspoon of each of the following: popcorn (extra fine) salt, ground turmeric² and ground cumin.

2. Shake the bowl in order to distribute the spices evenly.

3. Add 2 tablespoons (¼ stick) of butter.

4. Microwave until the butter is completely melted.

5. Fill the remainer of the bowl at least ¾ full with crispy rice such as Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies®.

6. Do need to mix. (Mix while eating.)

7. Serve including a plastic spoon¹.

¹ At Wal-Mart®, I’ve purchased Dixie® brand 20-oz. microwavable paper bowls in packages of 30 for US$3.38 and Diamond® brand plastic spoons in packages of 48 for US$1.14.

² Turmeric, in addition to adding a great flavor, is purported to have excellent health benefits.
