Any of the following true of you?

1. No time to cook.

2. No time to wash dishes.

3. No time to eat in restaurants.

4. No time for grocery shopping.

5. No time to eat more than once or twice a day.

If so, then this recipe may be for you!

This recipe uses a microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹ and a disposable plastic spoon¹ as the only eating utensils. It also uses the paper bowl as the microwave container. It does not require any perishable ingredients such as fresh vegetables or dairy products (Butter will keep for months in the freezer.), so you only need to stock up on groceries once every few weeks! It is a complete meal in itself with plenty of protein. The combination of the puffed rice and the mixed vegetables (usually peas, beans, carrots and corn) provide a complete protein, which grains or peas/beans by themselves do not provide. (Corn is also a grain.) It is very satisfying and filling, so you won’t have to eat more than once or twice a day! Sound too good to be true? Give it a try. You may be pleasantly surprised!

1. Fill a 20 oz. microwavable, disposable paper bowl¹ ½ full with frozen mixed vegetables.

NOTE: The following 6 ingredients should be distributed as evenly as possible:

2. Add a liberal amount of golden raisins. (optional)

3. Add at least 3 raw almonds. (optional)

4. Add a liberal amount of salt.

5. Add a liberal amount of curry powder. (optional)

6. Add some chili powder or black pepper.

7. Add some ground basil. (optional)

8. Add puffed rice to make the bowl full to the brim. (It will shrink down slightly as it is microwaved.)

9. Microwave on high for 3 minutes.

10. Add 2 tablespoons (¼ stick) of melted butter².

11. No need to mix. (Mix while eating.)

12. Serve while still warm in the paper bowl including a disposable plastic spoon¹.

NOTE: This preparation is very good when served with sour cream or with “Dannon® All Natural Plain Yogurt” (no sweetener added) as a condiment.

¹ At Wal-Mart®, I’ve purchased Dixie® brand 20 oz. microwavable paper bowls in packages of 30 for US$3.11 and Diamond® brand plastic spoons in packages of 48 for US$1.14.

² One obvious disadvantage of the above recipe is that it creates “dirty dishes.” A knife is required to cut the butter, and a container is required to melt the butter. For a good way to melt the butter without creating any dirty dishes, see “The World’s Best Popcorn” (http://LLBest.com/WorldsBestPopcorn.htm).
